Alright, I didn't want to threadjack the Madden thread any more (sorry!).the reason I'm bringing this game up again is the timing is very good. Tecmo Bowl Throwback (as well as any other sports titles/DLC such as NFL Blitz or Madden NFL Arcade) qualify for the Xbox Rewards August deal of the month which is spend 1600+ points and get back 240 points.Tecmo Bowl Throwback is based on the 1993 Tecmo Super Bowl version. For the PS3, you can download a user-created roster update. I'm not sure you can on the 360. On the 360, if you want to manually input it, a nice guide detailed how to do it:If you're going to do this, you better hook up a USB keyboard to your 360. The chatpad or virtual keyboard will drive you mad. What exactly to do:. Load up the game and from the Main Menu select Help & Options.

From the Help & Options Menu select Edit Names. Here you will find the ability to edit the team names, edit the player names, save and exit (important!) and restore defaults (don't hit this!). First select Edit Team Names. Fortunately for us, Tecmo has left all the City names correct just no secondary names after them, so finding the teams to change is easy. Forza horizon 4 for pc.

For your reference, in the list, the first New York team found will be the New York Jets. The second New York team is the New York Giants. The first Los Angeles team found is Los Angeles Raiders (these days they are in Oakland). The second Los Angeles team is the Los Angeles Rams (these days they are in St. Also not to confuse you, the Phoenix team is in fact the Arizona Cardinals as in this time period that was their name.Below is a quick list in proper order from top to bottom of what you should see after you've changed all the names. That would be fun!I never played Tecmo Bowl really (rented it).runs for cover. But I was looking for an arcade football game that was a decent price and would qualify for the $3 back. I would've loved a 4-player Tournament Cyberball 2072.

But that doesn't exist and the poor quality Cyberball 2072 was pulled from the marketplace.I'm actually replacing the names with 2012 names and it's not that bad. I only know about the PS3 download as a passing comment from googling. I don't know the specifics. Maybe you can try Operation Sports?

Tecmo Bowl Throwback for PlayStation 3 game reviews & Metacritic score: Playstation Network TECMO BOWL THROWBACK brings back the gameplay you loved, and stays true to the Tecmo Super Bowl legacy! Challenge friends in online multi. Mar 23, 2010  Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff was a DS title, so it was cheaper than a PS3 or 360 game, but 30 bucks is still a lot to invest in a title most folks recognize by nostalgia only. If they can keep the cost down to half or a third of that, I think a lot more folks will buy.

I know they do roster updates for other sports games like Madden.- Buffalo Bills - DONEQB1 Ryan FitzpatrickQB2 Tyler ThigpenRB1 Fred JacksonRB2 Corey McIntyreRB3 C.J. Ok here's the big secret from the devs:'Question: Can you give us some tips or hints for Tecmo Bowl Throwback? As with all old games, there are a few well known exploits. These are things that have become a part of the game, and although some people may refer to them as glitches, we felt they were so much a part of the gameplay that we decided not to fix them. One of these is the well known zigzag. If you are able to break free from the defense, moving in a well timed zigzag pattern will trick the AI and make you almost impossible to catch if you do it right. Also, during development we discovered something that I don't think even the most hardcore fans know. When calculating the results of certain actions in the game, like blocking and diving, the game actually takes into account how many times the player has pressed the A/Cross button (on SNES that was the B button) during a certain period of time. This is not mentioned in the original game manual, so you can only know this by actually looking in the code.

For example, when making a dive play, you are more likely to be successful if you spam the A button just before the player makes the dive. The opponent should also spam the A button, to weaken the offensive players chances of succeeding.

The same goes for basically all chance elements in the game, like interceptions, pass blocks and kick blocks. The manual only says that this can be used to wrestle down or break free from opponents, but it is actually used for most calculations. So spamming the A/Cross button is key to success!'

So I went ahead and renamed all the teams. Whew I cant imagine renaming all the players. Thats a TON of work. A labor of love.I saw that the PS3 version you can simply use another persons save file but I'm not sure how that would work with trophies and another persons profile.Hmmm.I think I may over time SLOOOOWLY rename them by hand.

Maybe about 5 teams a month or something. I'm going for all time greats though. Like 78' Steelers, 85' Bears etc.Cause I dont think I want to update the rosters every year. I thought about doing a team a night. But once I started, I really got into it. Last night, I just sat in party chat and while everyone was gaming/chatting, I was chatting and typing away on a keyboard.

Did quite a number of teams. In a couple of hours, went through about 2/3 of the teams. People thought, wow, playing Tecmo Bowl for a couple of hours and I just said, no, I'm just typing. The process would've been a lot faster if I didn't have to bounce back and forth between the controller and the keyboard. SouthEnd should've simplified it. You have to hit A to change the name, then switch to the keyboard to type the first name. Then switch back to the controller to hit A again to change the last name.

Then switch back to the keyboard to type. Then hit A on the next name. Rinse and repeat for all the other names.

I just want to keep my hands on the home row and keep on typing!Because of this, I may rewire my Logitech PS2 keyboard to become a Logitech Xbox keyboard. I just need a dead 360 controller to work with.
