I looked again at the Rampage Aracde1UP cabinet and there really is no good button map for defender using the main buttons, frankly.The only change I might make is moving smart bomb to the button cluster on the far right. Well I gotta say, I'm very pleasantly surprised that I did receive my replacement button for the Player 1 Punch button in under a week.So I opened up the deck and was also trying to come up with some kind of working mapping to solve all four games, and I think you're right, it's probably beyond hope.The one piece of good news is that I must say it's ridiculously easy to pull the deck out.

You don't even really need the screws if you're not gonna have kids or drunk dudes banging it around, so if it's possible, seems like it'd be really easy to have multiple decks to swap out.I would absolutely just replace this control deck with a Defender one. Do you know if I can just buy a standard Defender deck to put on this thing? I can't imagine the size and connections match right?. Get another arcade1up rampage deck and replace the right joystick with a button. That should do the job, as it would leave you with a setup very similar to arcade defender.If you dont plan on playing 3players that would actuslly work for all the games too, just map the center stick to where the right stick was.Heck if u could find one of those old arcade joysticks that has the fire button on the top you could still have the 3 sticks for rampage. But i havent seen one of those in a while.

Right, a second rampage deck is the best idea. Can even recover it potentially.I did notice the joysticks are hot glued onto the board, so you prob could pull them out, but wasn't gonna try all that now.I am trying a remap right now that actually isn't terrible. Just swapped 1A and 2start, and 3A and 3Start.This actually allows you to play all three games just a bit awkward if you have all 3 people playing rampage I imagine, but otherwise pretty much fine. And I'm already destroying my previous Defender scores with this set up, feels much more like the game I remember.
